Welcome Home

It’s been long overdue and our American troops deserve to step foot back onto the U.S. soil.  It has finally been decided by the president of the United States, Barrack Obama.  The war in Iraq is over.  Our troops fought long and hard.  While some lived and some died with altruism, families and friends can finally have a true reunion with their loved ones.
However, the situation in Iraq will not be easy once our soldiers leave.  We will be leaving the people of Iraq to find their own path of life.  It’s easy to predict that hostility and violence will occur because the U.S. isn’t there anymore.  Though the war is over, there are still many horrible things that will eventually happen.  We, the United States, have to under that we can’t stay in Iraq forever.  We’ve been involved for over eight years.  We need to understand that every country will have its troubles.   It is about time we have our troops home.  If the country falls apart, maybe we should just let it be?  We’ve done so much already and we’ve got so far.  No one wants to start at square one again.  Besides, the Iraqi officials refused to give U.S. personnel immunity against any prosecution by the Iraqi people if any of our men or women got themselves into any kind of trouble.  We’re protecting a country that won’t even give us a little bit of mutualism.
We can keep them over our radar as time progress but our time is up.  It’s time to welcome our heroes home.

I agree with Linda Nguyen's post about U.S troops returning back to America. Like she said, president Obama announced that the war in Iraq is officially over, then that certainly means that our troops should return back home to their loved ones.
We've been involved in this war for over 8 years now, our soldiers have fought long and hard, enduring tremendous obstacles in front of then, and they deserve a trip back to our home land.

To comment on the post Welcome Home I must discuss a couple of things. Before the year is over of the soldier’s being home, they will be asked to leave again. It will only be welcome home for a soldier when there is no more war anywhere and as long as we are dependent on foreign fossil fuels as American’s and Congress is too spineless to say no when a president starts a new ‘conflict’ with another nation, there will always be war.
It was clearly put that the only reason American soldiers are being pulled out of Iraq is because they will no longer have immunity, but that immunity is not for special actions but for their military actions and responsibilities, so they must leave. This time last year President Obama had a press conference and said “congratulations, the troops are out of Iraq” when in fact I know people who saw that live, from Iraq, as they were still fighting.

I think that ideally it would be great to have our men and women that have been away from their families, serving in this war to come home for good. But this is reality. To just up and leave a country we have decided to help so that the people of Iraq do not live in fear and through a dictatorship would be wrong. As said in the blog we have made tremedous progress with this nation, in helping them set up proper military, working towards a better government, and trying to keep their people safe. But if we up and leave what will happen to those innocent people that the American troops have brought so much hope to? They may be able to stand for a bit, but what if they are not ready?

It would be more beneficial to yes bring some troops home, but leave enough over to ensure that the Iraqi's that are suppose to be turning things around are capable and ready. That would make Americans happy and at the same time allow the U.S. to finish what they have started. If we slowly pull out of Iraq and their problems still do not get better then we can at least say we tried. But to just pull every troop out with out ensuring that the sacrifices that our men and women have made to make the world a better place would be for nothing.
